Founded in 1961, AED is an independent, non-profit organization committed to solving critical social problems and building the capacity of individuals, communities, and institutions to become more self-sufficient. AED works in all the major areas of human development, with a focus on improving education, health, and economic opportunities for the least advantaged in the United States and developing countries throughout the world.

The Alliance for a New Humanity is a coming together of open hearts and minds with a collective vision to create a more compassionate, just, peaceful and equitable society.

Our task is to help connect these "centers of new humanity": to link the streams of love and goodwill among our fellow beings into a global giving exchange mechanism.

Through networking, campaigning, and the use of new and existing media, the ANH aims to influence national and international policies by consolidating a critical mass of humanity. We strive for policies aligned in practice with the values of compassion, peace and social justice - the principles of a New Humanity. It is this love that will change the world.

Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. It has more than 1.8 million members, supporters and subscribers in over 150 countries and territories in every region of the world who come together from different backgrounds, political and religious beliefs and who are united by a determination to work for a world where everyone enjoys human rights.

AI’s vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

In pursuit of this vision, AI’s mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.

AI is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion. It does not support or oppose any government or political system, nor does it support or oppose the views of the victims whose rights it seeks to protect. It is concerned solely with the impartial protection of human rights.

DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS

Since 1971, some 15,000 Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) volunteers have provided medical relief to the victims of natural disaster and war in over 80 countries. In many remote and volatile places, MSF is the only international presence. Teams travel by boat, car, plane, pack horse, and on foot to bring relief wherever it is needed.
